Mental Health [Psychosocial] Safety – The Competency Skills
for Managers
Q. Can you provide an example of a time when you actively
promoted self-care and mental health awareness within your
team or organization?
Toxic skill level – "My manager frequently made
comments about mental health, dismissing it as a 'fad' or a
sign of weakness. It created a hostile work environment and
made it difficult for me to discuss my struggles openly."
Low skill level – “I haven't actively promoted
self-care or mental health awareness within my team or
organization”
High skill level – “I regularly incorporate discussions
about self-care and mental health into team meetings. I share
informative articles and resources, and we have open
discussions about strategies for maintaining well-being. I
also encourage team members to share their own self-care
practices and experiences to inspire and support one another.
